With the DioLite 532 Laser, patients can receive treatment for a variety of vascular and pigmented lesions.

Available by appointment.  Evaluation by a physician is required to determine if you are a candidate for laser treatment.

Vascular lesions are formed by abnormally large or numerous vessels located directly under the surface of the skin.  The result is the appearance of tiny red lines on the skin.  The most common are:

  • Telangiectasia - spider veins caused by a dilation of capillary vessels

  • Cherry Angiomas - slightly raised, red lesions

  • Spider Angiomas - slightly raised, red spider like lesions

  • Rosacea - red facial lesions around the nose and cheeks causing a sunburned look

Pigmented lesions occur when an abundance of melanocytes produce a dark pigment known as melanin.  As it multiplies, the melanin forms  brown age spots and moles.  The most common are:

  • Lentigines - flat brown spots on the skin after frequent sun exposure

  • Keratoses - slightly elevated pigmented spots often found on hands

  • Freckles - brownish spot on people with fair skin

  • Dermatosis Papulosis Nigra - small black marks primarily seen on people  of Asian and African descent

The doctor or laser technician will use a pencil sized hand piece to direct a beam of laser light to the area of treatment.  In most cases, anesthesia is not required.   Some patients report feeling a slight stinging sensation which quickly goes away.

There may be some redness to the treated area for 2-4 hours.  The skin does not bruise or have any purple discoloration.

Daily activities can resume immediately.  Final treatment results are usually evident for vascular lesions within 10-14 days, and within 2-3 weeks for pigmented lesions.
